STEPS ON MAKING SOLAR PANELS YOURSELF

Here are the guidelines on how to make the solar energy in your house yourself. If you want to have detailed information on building the solar panels at your home you can follow this link: http://solar-panel-sfor-home.com

The materials needed for the panels are actually quiet basic and it’s easy to find them in any market, specialized hardware shops, you can also get them on Ebay or Amazon. These are the things you’ll need:

drill, screwdriver, saw
wire strippers, wire cutters, a soldering iron
To build a solar system you are going to need solar cells which you can buy for about £1 per watt. It’s not hard to expect that the prices of solar cells are going to decrease and become more affordable over time; before the prices would vary at around £2-3 per watt. Preferably if you can buy solar cells, you should buy them with tabs attached already. It will be more convenient to make a panel from tabbed cells as it will save you work on glueing down the cells.

To build the panel you will need to make a container to hold the cells in it. It can be made from any material you like, while the easiest way is to use wood. You will need to decide the length and width of the box and make a substrate for the cells.

While wiring the cells, if you are using batteries for the solar panel, it’s always advised to solder them on a diode so that the power flows in one direction. It will prevent the power that was stored during the day to flow backwards into the solar panel. However, if you are not planning to connect your solar panel directly to the batteries and use a charge controller you will not need a diode. To attach the cells you can use silicone caulk. Just make sure you put enough caulk in each cell and let them dry for some time.

You should screw a hole in your container to put the wires through and then glue the wired cells with the substrate of the box. Finally you can attach plexiglass on the top of your container. You might also need to solder a connector on to the wires, which you decide on depending on the device you want your solar panel to connect to.

Finally your solar panel is ready! So, these were simple guides on making your own solar panel. It will be great if people leave their comments and maybe share their experience with installing solar system at their homes.

DIY or HOW TO INSTALL THE SOLAR POWER IN YOUR HOME

solar system at home“I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait till oil and coal run out before we tackle that.” – Thomas Edison

DIY or HOW TO INSTALL THE SOLAR POWER IN YOUR HOME

I think this a a great way to invest your free time and money to build a source of energy that will provide you with heat over time without any risk of being depleted on one day. The solar energy is the best alternative energy we have an access to. There is always a free choice between being lazy and spend dollars and dollars on the bills and finding a way of living better life for the better future.

You can do it yourself. And it really doesn’t require too much time, just maybe a little bit of patience and commitment. Make a solid decision to convert your house and this will be your first step. You can find different ways of installing the solar panels at your homes, and I think it is really worth trying making it yourself as many other people in the world already did.

Before you decide to install the solar system at your home you should first check if there is anything you cannot do yourself for some reasons, whether it’s health or lack of time. Once you have gone through all the steps that will be described later you can find it quiet fun time :) . But the only issue that may arise with doing it by your own is that you will definitely want to make it the cheapest and the most efficient way so that it will save you a lot on bills later in your life. It’s really not that difficult to install solar power in your house. For this you can follow the steps that I’m going to explain you in the next article or you can check out this link that gives you basic steps on converting your house to alternative energy: http://solar-panel-sfor-home.com

Green Homes – How to Build a Better One

A better green home with the increase in energy efficiency is something that many of us can do to help both issues of climate and economics.  Many homeowners have begun to do the simple things already, such as replace old incandescent light bulbs with the more energy efficient compact fluorescent lights.  However, many people are looking to do more.  They are striving to create a net-zero energy home.  A net-zero green home is one that produces as much energy in a year at it uses.  Here are a few ideas at what it takes to make your green home one that is a net-zero energy one:

1.   What a Green, Net-Zero Home Needs:   As we have said, a green, net-zero home is one that finds the balance between energy usage and energy production.  To do that a net-zero green home will need to have some sort of renewable energy system setup.  Currently there are three common ways to produce renewable home energy.  The first and most common are photovoltaic solar panels that convert sunlight into electricity.  The second is solar hot water, which can take a lot of roof space to work efficiently, and the third is wind technology, which needs lots of land to work well.

 2.   Designing the Green, Net-Zero Home:   When considering the design of your green, net-zero home you need to take into consideration land use and positioning.  For wind turbines and solar panels to work efficiently, you need to make sure that your home is positioned to take advantage of sun and wind effectively.  In your green, net-zero home design, the homeowner needs to look for ways to minimize the energy load in heating, cooling and lighting.  If you have an existing home you can do the basics of sealing air leaks and replacing windows and doors for better insulation.

When designing or updating your existing green, net-zero home, take into consideration of what lifestyles changes you are willing to make.  The cost of making a green, net-zero home through basic efficiency can be a lot cheaper than the purchase of new solar panels or wind turbines for your home.  However, putting up those solar panels and wind turbines can be a lot less disruptive to a family lifestyle than a basic remodel for green, net-zero efficiency.

3.   Having a Green, Net-Zero Home is Also a Lifestyle Change:   To achieve a green, net-zero home takes more than just updating or building the perfect energy efficient house.  There is a requirement of both technology and lifestyle behavior.  The technology is continuing to get better and be more efficient, however now matter how many solar panels you install, there is no replacement for shutting the lights off and taking shorter showers.
